Drunk truck driver runs over sub-inspector in Tamil Nadu

Sub-inspector, Balu warned the truck driver after he was creating the ruckus in an inebriated state. Angered, the accused ran over the truck over Balu, killing him.

Thoothukudi: Balu, a Sub Inspector from Sri Vaikundam of Thoothukudi district was brutally murdered while on duty, as per allegation. The horrific incident happened while Balu was on patrolling duty late at night.

The accused Murugavel is said to have killed Balu by running a goods truck over him in an inebriated state. According to the initial reports, during late-night Murugavel was heavily boozed and behaved chaotically by creating a ruckus.

Balu noticed the issue during the patrol and warned him for his ill behaviour. Triggered by anger, Murugavel allegedly ran a truck over the Sub-Inspector and evaded from the spot.

Balu's mortal remains were taken to the government hospital for post mortem. On hearing the incident, S P Jayakumar rushed to the spot and ordered a 10 member special team to capture the murderer.
