A body spa is therapy, in which efforts are made to relax the body and mind with the help of not just massage, but many other treatments. In addition to massage with scented oils or creams, scrubbing and body polishing are also included. This helps in enhancing blood circulation and skin cells get more oxygen and nutrients.

Body spa also helps in relieving muscle tension and tiredness. This is the reason why people usually fall asleep during the session. Nandita informs that a positive impact of body spa can also be seen in pain management. Post spa or massage, people experience relief from the pain in their body. It also has a great effect on the skin. A good massage with good products increases the collagen in the skin, which not only reduces the effect of age on the skin but also provides relief in many other skin-related problems, such as acne, sunburns, pimples, freckles, etc.

After knowing this, you can determine the kind of massage you want according to your requirements. Besides this, here are a few things you need to keep in mind:

  • Before going to any spa or salon, have complete information about it.
  • Different massages cater to different problems. Choose your type carefully, the one which is suitable for your needs.
  • Taking a shower a few hours before the massage is beneficial.
  • A lot of oil is used on the body while massaging, so do not wear clothes that can get stained.
  • Do not eat anything at least 1-2 hours before the massage.
  • Many people do not inform their masseur (therapist) about their allergies before getting a massage. A person may be allergic to a particular lotion, moisturizer, or oil. Therefore, before getting a massage, make your masseur aware of the same.
