Ghazipur border residents hold protest against farmers' agitation
Several people living near the Ghazipur border at Delhi on Saturday staged a protest against the farmers' agitation. The road near the border has remained closed due to the farmers' protests for the last 80 days, due to which the local people are facing various problems.
The farmers have been protesting at various borders of the national capital against the three new farm laws since November 26, 2020.
The farmers have been sitting at the Ghazipur border and after the violence on Republic Day, barricades have been placed by the local administration to prevent the farmers from entering Delhi.
The local residents have been forced to wait on the streets for several hours while commuting from Ghaziabad district in Uttar Pradesh to Delhi, so a group of local residents sat on a 'dharna' against the farmer agitation. They demanded that the protest should end soon as the people living near the border are getting tired of the continuous protests.

Tikait supports farmers' protest at Mahapanchayat
The farmers' protests are continuing on the borders of Delhi against the agricultural laws with 'Mahapanchayats' taking place to boost the movement and spread it across the country while BKU leader Rakesh Tikait has emerged as the prominent voice of the movement. However, enthusiasm in the farmers is less in Tikait's absence at the Ghazipur border protest.
Tikait, the national spokesperson of the Bhartiya Kisan Union, said, "This movement is a mass liberation movement, people are in captivity and they have to be released, hence the mahapanchayat is being held."

Rahul Gandhi to address kisan rallies in Ajmer, Nagaur today
Ajmer: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will address multiple Kisan (farmers') rallies in Ajmer and Nagaur in Kishangarh's Nagridas stadium. In a bid to connect with farmers through a "Kisan Mahapanchayat" held by the Congress in Rajasthan, "charpai" or cots were placed on the stage instead of chairs for party leader Rahul Gandhi and others.
All leaders will sit on the cots on the stage.
Gandhi will also participate in a function in Veer Tejaji Dham in Sursura and all the adequate arrangements have been made. Rajasthan health minister Dr Raghu Sharma, Ajmer Chief Lalchand Katariya, Ashok Chandana took stock of the preparations in Kishangarh and heavy police personnel have been deployed.
The route from Kishangarh to Makrana will be blocked from 11 am to 6 pm a rehearsal from Kishangarh airport to Tejaji Dam was also held.
Gandhi will also visit Sinodhia village and a large number of farmers are expected to join the rallies.
