Chandigarh (Punjab): Punjab CM Charanjit Singh Channi is said to have reportedly got the nod from former Congress president Rahul Gandhi to a list with proposed names for the Punjab cabinet expansion, according to sources. They added that the cabinet will be officially announced later this afternoon.
According to sources, Brahm Mohindra, Rana Gurjeet Singh, Manpreet Singh Badal, Tripat Rajinder Singh Bajwa, Sukhbinder Singh Sarkaria, Aruna Chaudhary, Razia Sultana, Dr Raj Kumar Verka, Bharat Bhushan Ashu, Vijay Inder Singla, Gurkirat Singh Kotli, Raja Varing and Sangat Singh Giljian may also be included. On the other hand, the names of Kaka Randeep Singh, Pargat Singh and Kuljit Singh Nagra have been finalised.

It is known that CM Channi had dropped loyalists of Capt Amarinder Singh - Balbir Sidhu, Rana Gurmeet Sodhi, Gurpreet Singh Kangar, Sadhu Singh Dharamsot and Sunder Sham Arora.
Also, if sources are to be believed, the high command has tried to strike a balance with both the camps, because if a deal is not struck with the Captain's camp, then it might be hard for them in the coming elections.
