Puducherry: Puducherry Chief Minister V Narayanasamy and his ministerial colleagues staged a protest against the denial of permission to meet Minister of Welfare, M Kandasamy. The Welfare Minister has been on indefinite strike against Lieutenant Governor Kiran Bedi against alleged non-clearance of certain project files. Kandaswamy was not granted permission to meet Bedi, according to reports.
Chief Minister, Health Minister Malladi Krishna Rao, Revenue Minister M O H F Shah Jahan and Vaithilingam, MP were denied permission to meet Welfare Minister as they were stopped by central police personnel on duty outside Raj Nivas, reports said.
On January 18, the protest was suspended as a resolution against farm laws was adopted. Ruling Congress party has been on stir from January 8 and teams of central police were deployed near Raj Nivas, as per reports.
Earlier, Kandasamay had written a letter to Kiran Bedi, seeking a meeting with her to elaborate on the schemes that require her permission. In reply, Lt Governor said that she needs to be familiar with the schemes by discussing it first with the concerned officials, according to reports.
Kandaswamy initiated the protest in the agitation against the delay in clearing files. In addition, Krimambakkam villagers staged a road blockade on Tuesday, in support of him and insisting the Lt Governor to grant permission on the delayed schemes, reports said.
