Provide info on migrant children, their condition: SC tells states

The Supreme Court on Tuesday directed all the states to file an affidavit in the court giving out details on the number of migrant children and their condition. Except Tamil Nadu, no other state has filed a reply.

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Tuesday directed all the states to file an affidavit in the court giving out details on the number of migrant children and their condition.

The bench comprising Chief Justice of India SA Bobde, Justice V Ramasubramanian and Justice AS Bopanna was hearing a petition by 'The Child Right Trust and Anr' seeking directions for protecting the fundamental rights of migrant children and children from migrant families affected due to COVID-19.

On Tuesday, the court was informed that no states, except Tamil Nadu, have filed a reply.

The top court had earlier impleaded the states on March 8.
