Gorakhpur (Uttar Pradesh): President Ram Nath Kovind on Saturday reached Gorakhpur city, wherein he laid the foundation stone of AYUSH University and also inaugurated the Mahayogi Gorakhnath Vishwavidyalaya. The President has spent the first two days of his four-day visit in Lucknow and will move on to the temple town of Ayodhya on Sunday. His wife Savita Kovind is accompanying him during the visit. Governor Anandi Ben Patel, UP CM Yogi Adityanath and BJP MP Ravi Kishan among others took part in the ceremony.
This is the second time that President Kovind has visited Gorakhpur and elaborate arrangements have been made by the district administration in this regard. The President also addressed the public after laying the foundation stone and the Bhoomi Pujan program. He will leave for Lucknow at 3.35 pm.

The Uttar Pradesh government intends to complete the construction of the AYUSH University by 2023. The establishment spanning over 52 acres, will house Ayurveda, Unani, Homeopathy and Yoga medicare on its campus. An estimated Rs 299 crore is being spent by the government for the project.
