Three people were arrested with unaccounted cash worth Rs 1.47 crores in Karnataka's Davangere when the police was conducting a routine check of vehicles.

Bengaluru: Davangere police arrested three people and seized unaccounted cash worth Rs 1.47 crores from a car on Friday night. Police caught hold of the money while conducting a routine check of vehicles in the Azad Nagar Police station area.

The cash was being carried in a Swift desire car and the vehicle was heading towards Kalaburagi. Police intercepted the vehicle and confiscated it as no information was available to whom the money was sent.

The accused have been identified as Mahesh (25), Beeralinga (23) and Srikanth (26) and all are residents of Kalaburagi.

According to police, the money belongs to Sripal Jain, a resident of Kalaburagi. No information is available to whom the money was sent to Davanagere. Police have decided to hand over the cash to Income Tax officials for investigation.

A case has been registered at Azad city police station and further investigation is underway.
