PM Modi to dedicate 7 new defence companies to nation on Oct 15

The seven new defence companies, instituted following the conversion of Ordnance Factory Board, will be dedicated to the country by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 15. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Minister of State for Defence will be present during the virtual event.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will dedicate the seven new defence companies to the country, on October 15 at around 12.10 pm, as per press release. PM Modi will deliver the address virtually. Defence Minister, MoS Defence and representatives from the Defence industry associations will be present on the occasion.

The seven new defence companies that have been incorporated include Munitions India Limited (MIL); Armoured Vehicles Nigam Limited (AVANI); Advanced Weapons and Equipment India Limited (AWE India); Troop Comforts Limited (TCL); Yantra India Limited (YIL); India Optel Limited (IOL); and Gliders India Limited (GIL).

The new defence companies have been instituted following the conversion of Ordnance Factory Board from a Government Department into seven 100% Government owned corporate entities.
