New Delhi: A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) has been filed in the Supreme court on Saturday against the Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister, Pema Khandu, for an investigation into alleged corrupt practices and abuse of his power in making several illegal appointments.
The plea has been filed by Arunachal Justice Forum which has contended before the court that there are several undisclosed properties alleged to be in India and abroad which the minister has not declared in the election affidavits. The plea appeals to the court to initiate an enquiry under the supervision of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
The petitioner has contended that Khandu led government has entered into 133 secret Memorandum of Associations (MOAs) with various power developers which Panchayati Raj institutions, village authorities have no idea about and around 1300 crores have been collected from power developers. It alleged that misappropriation of around Rs 2400 crores has been done under the PM package.
