Later, while addressing the media, Rahul Gandhi said, "Today all Opposition parties have gathered here to extend their support to the farmers' protest to repeal these black farm laws. We want a discussion on Pegasus in Parliament, but they are not allowing it. Narendra Modi has intercepted every Indian's phone. Nothing would happen by discussion. These black laws need to be taken back," he asserted.

"We have been continuously opposing these three bills. We are protesting in Parliament because this government is not ready to listen to our voices. We have no other option," Congress Rajya Sabha MP Digvijay Singh said.

Speaking to ETV Bharat, Congress MP K Suresh said, "Sometimes members of AAP and BSP attend Opposition's meeting and there must be some reason. But we had invited everybody to participate in this protest."

"People's power is more important than any other power. When people understand that this government is only working for a few corporates, they will punish them. If they won't do it, our government whenever comes to power, will repeal these three laws," said Manickam Tagore, Congress MP.

Punjab Congress MP Jasbir Singh Gill has assured that the Opposition will continue to fulfil its responsibilities towards the farmers of this country.

Opposition MPs who took part in the protest include Mallikarjun Kharge, Adhir Ranjan Choudhary, Shashi Tharoor, Rashtriya Janata Dal's Manoj Jha, Shiv Sena's Sanjay Raut, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam's Tiruchi Siva, and many others. However, Trinamool Congress and Aam Aadmi Party skipped the protest. The decision to hold a protest was taken in a meeting of floor leaders inside the Parliament where 14 opposition parties chalked out strategy to tackle the central government in the rest of the Monsoon Session.
