Rajouri (J&K): One person died and at least four people were injured in an explosion at the residence of BJP leader Jasbir Singh in Jammu’s Rajouri district on Thursday. It is believed that the explosion took place when the family members were seated in the front yard of their house.
Those injured in the explosion were rushed to Rajouri civil hospital. Following the incident, officials cordoned off the area. They suspect that the blast might have taken place due to grenade lobbying.

Earlier on Thursday, a group of suspected militants opened fire on a BSF party in Malpura Mir Bazaar Qazigand. According to sources privy to the development, the suspected militants indiscriminately opened fire on the BSF party, which was on patrol duty, on the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway. The attackers had holed up in a nearby building. The security forces at the site cordoned off the building. A gun battle between the forces and attackers ensued following which the national highway was closed.
