Mathura (Uttar Pradesh): Krishna devotee Gopal Giri Maharaj filed a new case Friday in the court of Civil Judge Senior Division of the district demanding the ownership of Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi and sought that the premises be made mosque-free. The court then ordered that a suit be registered.
The next hearing of the case has been fixed for October 25. A total of eight cases are pending in the court of Civil Judge Senior Division regarding the Janmabhoomi case.
Gopal Giri Maharaj is a disciple of Late Digambar Naga Baba alias Parmanand Giri Maharaj of Nohjheel Road, Mant tehsil area of the district.

The Shri Krishna Janmasthan Complex is built on 13.37 acres, Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi Leela Manch and Bhagwat Bhawan on 11 acres and Shahi Idgah Masjid on 2.37 acres. Shri Krishna Janmasthan is built on the site of Katra Keshav Dev Temple. The petitioner says that the entire land should be returned to Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi. He said that Shri Krishna Janmasthan Seva Sansthan and Shri Krishna Janma Bhoomi Seva Trust have no right to issue any decree.
In his petition, Gopal Giri Maharaj has named four defendants – Shahi Idgah Committee, Sunni Waqf Board, Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi Seva Sansthan and Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi Seva Trust.
A number of cases are under consideration in the courts regarding the Janmabhoomi case. Eight cases are pending in the court of Civil Judge Senior Division. One case is still pending in the court of District Judge regarding the ownership of Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi. The petition of Krishna devotee Manish Yadav, a descendant of Lord Shri Krishna, is still under consideration. From time to time, dates are fixed regarding the Janmabhoomi matter.
Devkinandan Sharma, the advocate of the petitioner, said Gopal Giri Maharaj, a resident of Mant, has filed the suit in the court of Civil Judge Senior Division regarding the ownership of Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi and has demanded that the premises be made mosque-free. After the registration of the case, the next hearing has been fixed for October 25. The petitioner stated that the Janmabhoomi is the property of Lord Krishna and the trust has no right to make any compromise on this.
