Murdered Indian student's body to reach Patna

The body of Aman Nagsen, the Indian student who was murdered in China, will reach Patna today. The last rites will be performed at his native village in Gaya.

Gaya (Bihar): The body of Aman Nagsen, the student from Gaya who went to study International Business Studies in China, will reach Patna airport today.

From there, the body will be taken to the native village Kashtual in Mangrawan Panchayat of Paraiya block for the last rites. Aman's family has been waiting for the last 14 days for his body to arrive.

The body had reached Delhi airport this morning. From there, it will be brought to Patna airport by air, after which it will be taken to the native village in the evening. Gaya District Magistrate said that a police team has been sent to receive the dead body.

"The body of Aman Nagsen will reach Gaya by this evening,” Singh said. “A mortuary van and a police team have been sent from Gaya to bring it from Patna. The relatives of the deceased have also reached Patna. The central government, state government and district administration have made every effort to bring the body from China. I have no information about cremation with state honours, but our condolences to the deceased. The last rites will be performed in a respectful and safe manner."

The administration had informed the family members about the murder of Aman Nagsen July 30. Since then, the family has been waiting for the dead body to arrive. Preparations for a funeral are on.

The villagers, have built a brick paved platform on the bank of river Morhar for the last rites. The family has demanded that Aman's last rites be performed with state honors.

Aman was the only son of Uday Paswan, elder brother of BGP leader Kishore Paswan, a resident of Ambedkar Nagar located on Police Line. The deceased's uncle Pankaj Paswan had mailed the Indian Embassy in Beijing July 30 following which which the Embassy gave the information about the murder.

The Embassy said that Aman was murdered by a non-Chinese person who has been arrested. Since then, along with the family members of Aman, leaders and Buddhist monks have been pleading with candles and banners in their hands near the Mahabodhi temple to bring the body back home.

Aman had gone to China's Tianjin University of Technology to study International Business Studies. He was murdered July 23.
