New Delhi: Both Houses were adjourned till Monday amid ruckus by Opposition parties. The stalemate between Opposition and government has been continuing on the fourteenth day of the Monsoon Session as well. Opposition MPs swelled the Well of the House and intensified sloganeering.

In Rajya Sabha during Zero Hour, Dr Sasmit Patra, Biju Janata Dal, MP from Odisha raised the matter of assistance package for the state from the centre for dealing with natural disasters like cyclones, floods. He also sought infrastructural development in the state

Responding to questions of B Lingaiah Yadav, Telangana Rashtra Samiti MP from Telangana, Prasanna Acharya, Biju Janata Dal,MP from Odisha questions on special Budget for agriculture and GDP contribution from the agriculture sector, Shobha Karandlaje, MoS Agriculture and farmers welfare said over the six years the sector's contribution to GDP has increased. The sector contributed 20% of GDP while in 2013-14 it was only 13%.

G K Vasan, Tamil Maanila Congress, Tamil Nadu MP raised the matter of lack of first-class in trains owing to the Covid pandemic. He raised the demand for the first-class sections in trains without AC for the elderly.

The notice filed by Opposition under Rule 267 was rejected by the chair. Deputy Chairman Harivansh Narayan Singh said that discussion on short duration has been allowed on farmers' issues.

The Essential Defence Services Bill, 2021, Air Quality Commission Bill for National Capital Region and Adjoining Areas, Constitution (Scheduled Tribes) Order (Amendment) Bill, 2021 were passed last day in the Upper House.

Opposition parties have been pressing on the Pegasus snooping row, farm laws and Covid-19 crisis since the commencement of the Monsoon Session.

Vociferous sessions kicked off after Union Minister of IT Ashwini Vaishnaw's statement that the media report on Pegasus row was an attempt to malign Indian democracy. The session commenced on July 19 and is scheduled to end on August 13.
