New Delhi: Congress party on Monday launched a scathing attack on BJP over the reports of a clash between Indian and Chinese troops in Sikkim. Congress said that central government has adopted policies which has weakened the nation and China is taking advantage of it.
Earlier today, Congress former President Rahul Gandhi took a swipe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the matter, by tweeting, "China is expanding its occupation into Indian Territory. Mr 56 inch hasn't said the words 'China' for months. Maybe he can start by saying the word 'China'."
Congress General Secretary Tariq Anwar told ETV Bharat, "What Rahul Ji is saying is absolutely right. China has realized that Government of India is weak. Currently, India is having a lot of issues like farmers agitation, unemployment, COVID-19 outbreak. China is taking advantage and creating tensed situations at border by harming our soldiers."
"It is very unfortunate that on one side, repeated clashes have been reported from the side of China but on the other side, Prime Minister, Home Minister and all the other BJP leaders are busy in election campaigning. Their priority is upcoming Assembly polls and not giving a reply to China or raising this issue on an international platform. We don't know what our External Affairs Ministry is doing," he further added.

According to reports, at least four Indians and 20 Chinese soldiers have been injured in the scuffle between the two armies at the Line of Actual Control in Sikkim. The incident happened two to three days before the ninth round of Commander level talks occurred on Sunday.
Attacking the Central Government, Congress leader Udit Raj said, "I've never seen such Prime Minister who is even scared of taking the name of China. China has occupied our territory but this Government won't open it's mouth. BJP's own MP had warned that another Doklam will be created in Arunachal Pradesh, but this Government didn't take any decision over it."
He asserted, "Our economy is destroyed completely. A financially weak country also gets politically weak. PM Modi has broken the backbone of the Indian economy and that is the reason why he is scared of taking the name of China. Even Nepal has been trying to dominate India but we are unable to do anything about it. Have we become so weak?"
The outcome of the Commander level meeting is yet unknown. India has been consistently pushing for comprehensive disengagement at all flashpoints and restoration of status quo ante of April 2020. However, China wants the Indian Army to first pull back troops deployed on Pangong Tso.
