Sultanpur: BJP leader Maneka Gandhi on Monday inaugurated a 'One Stop Centre' for women who have been victims for various kinds of violence. Gandhi said that the Centre will take care of the physical and psychological well-being of women who are victims of various kinds of violence.
"One Stop Centre has been built five km away from Sultanpur district headquarters which will be having policemen, doctors, nurses to assist women. Women subjected to any kind of violence, be it domestic violence or sexual harassment by their husbands and in-laws or any other atrocities, will get justice in One Stop Centre," the Sultanpur MP said.
"The concept of One Stop Centre initially started in Delhi and it received a good response. Sikkim also has a One Stop Centre which aims to provide justice to women. One Stop Centres across the country have received an overwhelming response and we are hopeful that this will also be appreciated," she added.
District Magistrate Ravish Gupta, Police Supreindentent Dr Arvind Chaturvedi, BJP MP Ranjit Kumar, BJP MLA Suryabhan Singh, media co-ordinator Vijay Singh Raghuvanshi and a team of doctors were also present on the occasion.
