Kolkata: In a unique protest against surging fuel prices across India, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday took a pillion ride on an electric scooter to the state secretariat in Kolkata.
Banerjee sat behind state minister Firhad Hakim, who rode the battery-powered scooter. Both had a placard protesting against the petrol price hike. Banerjee in helmet waved at people on both sides of the road during the five-kilometre ride from Hazra More to the state secretariat.
