Little child warriors who defeated coronavirus

Many children have been infected by coronavirus during the pandemic’s phase-2. Children in the category of new-borns to 12 year-olds have been infected by the coronavirus. The situation has become so grim that the doctors have been compelled to give Remdesivir injections to the kids.

Surat: Corona phase-2 had started in the month of March. Since then, over 411 children have been infected by coronavirus. They include newborns to 12-year-old children. The condition of some of them was so critical that they had to be put on a ventilator. But, many children survived the deadly pandemic. In Surat, the children aged between three days to five years have defeated the deadly pandemic in just two to three days.

Kept my baby away from breastfeeding

In Surat, a 25-day-old baby has defeated corona. The father Ruben Daniel said at first he contracted the infection and then after two days his mother and wife too got the infection. As a precautionary measure, the mother did not breastfeed the infant. The baby is safe and healthy now.

My son is my fighter

Shiven Shah is 3.6 years old. He is very naughty. However, everyone in the family plunged into anxiety when it was found that the child suffered from Covid-19 infection. According to Shiven’s father Mrugesh, his mother and son had contracted the infection following which they were in isolation. "I was doubly worried, both for the mother and son. However, both recovered fast following treatment by the doctor. For him, his son is a fighter," Mrugesh said.

Little Jasmine survived Covid-19

Two-year-old Jasmine too has defeated corona. Jasmine’s father Sagar said she had a fever and refused to go despite giving her medicine. "She would just lie down on the floor giving up her playing. It made us worried. We got her tested for COVID and she turned out be Covid-19 positive. We took her immediately to a doctor. She is doing great now," Sagar said.

'She could not even take medicine'

One-year-old Trisha Chanchadiya was hospitalized after all members of her family turned Covid-19 positive. Trisha’s father Dharmesh said she was so sick that she could not even take medicine. "She was then admitted to a hospital where the doctors treated her till she recovered completely. She has become as playful as before, Dharmesh said.

Father was worried because of heavy dose

Two-and-a-half-year-old Vivan Gondaliya had a high fever for two days after testing Covid-19 positive. Vivan’s father Sumit was worried that the child will not be able to withstand the heavy dose of medicine. The child remained in the hospital for five days where he was given medicine through intravenous injection. He recovered fully as a result of the medication.

Children are given medicine for sneezing

Dr. Purvesh Dhakecha, who has been treating corona-infected children said that more children are getting infections during the present phase of the pandemic. The doctor gives such children oral medicine for sneezing.

How does this work? Besides, if the child has a fever then it is also given paracetamol and some other antibiotic if it has some other symptoms. In many recent cases, the doctors also give the children Remedisivir which works quite effectively.
