Landslides disrupt road connectivity in Arunachal Pradesh

Officials from Pasighat in the East Siang district said that a portion of the National Highway 13 connecting Pasighat, Pangin and Aalo was swept away by heavy landslides leading to the disruption in connectivity. Pangin is in Siang district while Aalo is in the West Siang district of the state.

Arunachal Pradesh (Itanagar): Road connectivity between Pasighat, Pangin and Aalo in Arunachal Pradesh was disrupted after incessant rains triggered landslides in the hill state.

Officials from Pasighat in the East Siang district said that a portion of the National Highway 13 connecting Pasighat, Pangin and Aalo was swept away by heavy landslides leading to the disruption in connectivity. Pangin is in Siang district while Aalo is in the West Siang district of the state.

There are, however, no reports of any human causality so far, officials said.

Senior district administration officials in East Siang district issued an advisory to the people of the state against using the portion of the NH-13 between Pasighat, Pangin and Aalo at least for seven days during which the road will be repaired.

There is also reports that heavy landslide triggered by rains have also blocked the Likabali to Basar road, where several vehicles have remained stranded since last 24 hours. Efforts are on to restore the connectivity, officials said adding that there is also a report of blockage between Tuting and Yingkiong in the Upper Siang district due to landslides.
