New Delhi: In line with the ongoing agitation, farmer unions, on Thursday, started their own ''Farmers' Parliament" at Jantar Mantar to discuss over the three contentious farm laws. As much as 10 Members of Parliament from Kerala reached the location to join this protest.
While speaking to ETV Bharat, Congress' Chief Whip in Lok Sabha K Suresh said, "Today 10 Kerala MPs have come to Jantar Mantar to express their solidarity to the farmers who are protesting here. Central Government is not ready to take back these three laws that is why farmers are agitating last 8 months. Many of our MPs also moved adjournment motion in the Parliament demanding a discussion over this matter."
AIUML MP ET Basheer Ahmad said, "Government must confirm that it will repeal these three farm laws. We took a strong stand that these farm laws cannot be allowed. This agitation has become historical. Farmers have proved that they are united. Therefore we have urged the Government that they should not continue with these laws."
He further added, "We will continue this agitation, we will make it stronger. We are confident that the ultimate victory will be of the farmers." Opposition parties today also hold a protest at the Gandhi statue inside the Parliament premises in support of the farmers protest.
