Malappuram: Edakara police have arrested a man for tying his pet dog's neck with a rope to the back of the scooter and dragging it on the road. A video of the incident has gone viral on social media.
The accused, identified as Xavier (40), tied his pet dog to a two-wheeler and dragged it along a road for about three kilometres from Perungalam to Muslyarangadi on Saturday night.
Locals claimed that the animal fell to the ground but still the cruelty continued. The animal's agony came to an end after a local man Ummer forcibly stopped the scooter in which two people were riding. He untied the dog after stopping the vehicle and the owner took the pet along with him.
