New Delhi: Jet Airways employees have rejected the Kalrock-Jalan consortium's offer under the resolution plan and moved the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) seeking quashing of the National Company Law Tribunal's approval of the Kalrock-Jalan resolution plan.

The two unions- Bharatiya Kamgar Sena (BKS) and Jet Airways Cabin Crew Association had on Wednesday filed an appeal against the NCLT's June 22 order approving the resolution. The unions cited concerns about continuity and unpaid salary dues in their plea.

Meanwhile, the voting results for the consortium proposal to ex-employees and workmen were declared today. Only 35.1 per cent of them approved the plan while 3.2 rejected it, and 61.6 per cent abstained from the voting.

As per the Kalrock-Jalan proposed plan, employees and workmen were informed to be paid Rs 11,000 and Rs 22,800 respectively and each of the workmen would be given a phone, laptop, or an iPad through a lottery basis and ticket vouchers worth Rs 10,000. The consortium proposes to invest Rs 600 crore in the first two years to repay creditors and acquire an 89.79% stake in the carrier.

Jet Airways was started in 1992, and it had at least 22,000 employees during that time. The airline has been grounded since April 2019 because of bankruptcy under its previous promoter Naresh Goyal. There were around 3,500 employees who had remained at Jet Airways even after it was grounded two years ago.
