New Delhi: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat Sunday attended a book release programme in Delhi, where he said "it is necessary to understand the soul of India first to make a self-reliant India."

Speaking about farmers in the country said: "The farming system of India has been very prosperous since ancient times but people had forgotten it. Today once again these methods are coming back to our country by becoming international and people are adopting them as well."

"In the old times, when there was no agricultural university and laboratory, the farmer was our scientist and his farm was the laboratory. Even today, more than 3,000 varieties of paddy exist in India. The Indian farmer can lead a prosperous life from his land," Bhagwat said.

"India will not rule any country. We will not take military or multinational companies to any country, but will impress with our knowledge and experience," he added.
