New Delhi: The Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC) on Wednesday urged the central government for free vaccination of unorganized sector and migrant laborers.

INTUC President KN Tripathi said, "The number of laborers in the unorganized sector is around 50 crores while the number of migrant laborers is 5 crores, and their vaccination cannot be ignored."

"The workers should be provided with an identity card so that if they are working anywhere in the whole country, they could be vaccinated on the basis of the identity card. The Central government should take concrete steps in this regard.", he added.

"Last year, free rations were given to migrant laborers under the Atma Nirbhar Package, such initiatives should be taken this year also, and a sum of 7,000 rupees should be transferred to their bank accounts", Tripathi said.
