New Delhi: Indian National Congress has listed out seven points of "failures" of Modi government in the past seven years on the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday today. Addressing a presser, Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate took a jibe at PM saying that his birthday should be celebrated across the nation as unemployment day.
Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate said, "We pray for his well being, but we do believe that this day should be celebrated in many parts of the country as unemployment day, anti-farmer day, as high prices day, as crippled economy day, as capitalists friends day, as ED- IT- CBI raid day and Corona mismanagement day as data proves Modi has failed on all these fronts."
Listing out various issues in the nation, the Congress leader said, "India is the youngest nation in the world. We have the maximum number of unemployed, despite BJP's tall promises. Every successive month, jobs are being lost, where are those 2 crore annual jobs? Why 61 lakh government posts are still vacant?"
"Where is the solution for the farmers protesting for last nine months? Demonetization and GST have crippled the economy. BJP has shut down MSMEs, middle size businesses as a result the investment in the consumption chain has completely broken. What the saffron party has done successfully has put the nation on sale for a few of its friends," she added.
Shrinate said, "During Corona crisis, we had a shortage of vaccines, oxygen, essential drugs but the party were too busy in election campaigns. The blatant use of ED,IT,CBI, as a party frontal have broken the framework of our constitution too." Calling these issues as the "failure" of the government, she alleged that India is paying a "heavy price" for it.
When asked about Central government's aim to vaccinate a record number of individuals today to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 71st birthday, she replied, "I wish the BJP and its leadership gets out of headline management. India needs vaccination. We have doubly vaccinated only 13 per cent of our population. There are 113 nations, who are ahead of us. Why should we wait for this one day to have record vaccination?"
