Hyderabad: A single-day rise of 42,766 new infections and 308 fatalities push India's COVID-19 tally to 3,29,88,673 and death toll to 4,40,533, as per the Union Health ministry. The active caseload have increased to 4,10,048, according to the data updated at 8 am on Sunday. The national COVID-19 recovery rate was recorded at 97.42 per cent.
Of 42,766 new cases reported in India, Kerala recorded 29,682 COVID positive cases. The state also reported 142 deaths in the last 24 hours.
The number of people who have recuperated from the disease surged to 3,21,38,092. The cumulative COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in the country so far under the nationwide vaccination drive has exceeded 68.46 crore. It said over 66.89 crore vaccine doses were provided to States/UTs so far, with more than 1.56 crore doses in the pipeline.
According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 53,00,58,218 samples have been tested up to September 4 for COVID-19. Of these, 17,47,476 samples were tested on Saturday.
