Hyderabad: India reported 42,618 fresh COVID-19 cases and 330 deaths in the last 24 hours, as per the Union Health Ministry. Of this, Kerala recorded 29,322 COVID-19 cases and 131 deaths. The active caseload stands at 4,05,681, according to the data updated at 8 am on Saturday. The national COVID-19 recovery rate was recorded at 97.43 per cent.
According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 52,82,40,038 samples have been tested up to September 3 for COVID-19. Of these, 17,04,970 samples were tested on Friday. The total recoveries from COVID-19 escalated to 3,21,00,001 including the fresh 36,385 recoveries.
India administered 58.85 lakh COVID vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, taking the inoculation coverage to over 67.72 crore under its nationwide programme, said the provisional report released by the ministry at 7 am on Saturday.
