1. Countrywide 'chakka jam' to be held between 12 pm and 3 pm today
Farmer unions announced countrywide 'chakka jam' today between 12 pm and 3 pm to protest the internet ban in areas near their agitation sites, harassment allegedly meted out to them by authorities and other issues. However, Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) leader Rakesh Tikait on Friday said the nationwide protest will be peaceful and added that there will be no 'chakka jam' in Delhi.
2. PM Modi to address diamond jubilee event of Gujarat High Court
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address an event marking the Diamond Jubilee of the Gujarat High Court on Saturday at 10:30 AM via video conferencing. According to the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), he will also release a Commemorative Postage Stamp marking the completion of sixty years of the establishment of the High Court.
3. Nadda to flag off 'Parivartan Yatra' in Bengal today
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President JP Nadda will inaugurate a statewide 'Parivartan Yatra' from Nadia in West Bengal and hold a roadshow in Malda on Saturday. The BJP President will also attend the 'Krishok Surokha Saha - Bhoj' and visit Sri Sri Gauranga Janmasthan Ashram at Nabadwip. Nadda's inauguration of the 'Parivartan Yatra' will come in the backdrop when a PIL has been filed at Calcutta High Court against the matter ahead of West Bengal polls by Advocate Rama Prasad Sarkar in view of COVID-19 and the law and order situation in the state.
4. Vaccination for police, security force to begin in Telangana today
Telangana is set to start a vaccination drive for officials of police and security forces from Saturday. The state Health Minister informed the Telangana is working to make some hospitals 'Covid Free Hospitals' with a significant reduction of coronavirus infection in the state, such infrastructure will not be necessary. "We have made special arrangements for Coronavirus patients in all the hospitals in the state. We are currently making some hospitals Covid-free as we feel that such infrastructure is not necessary in the face of a significant reduction in the number of cases.
