At the end of the meeting, PAGD members refrained from speaking to the media, however, Alliance spokesman Yousuf Tarigami said they would issue a written statement on Monday about the purpose of the meeting. Sources said that the meeting discussed the all-party meeting with Prime Minister Modi on June 24.

Sources said that the participants of Gupkar alliance in today's meeting reiterated their commitment to restore the position of Jammu and Kashmir as before August 4, 2019. It may be recalled that on August 5, 2019, the special status of Jammu and Kashmir was revoked and the state was transformed into two centrally administered territory.

The center's decision has not been accepted by the Gupkar Alliance and the Alliance demands that the August 4 position be restored. This meeting of Gupkar Alliance was the first after the all party meeting held with PM Modi. Gupkar alliance meeting was canceled last week since PDP president Mehbooba Mufti was unable to attend. The meeting took place two days before the visit of the delimitation commission.
