Girl knifed by unidentified miscreants in UP

A girl who was returning home from duty was knifed by unknown miscreants late at night on Wednesday at the Gudamba area in Lucknow. The victim was rushed to the trauma centre in King George's Medical University where her condition is now said to be stable.

Lucknow: A girl who was returning home from duty was knifed by unknown miscreants late at night on Wednesday at the Gudamba area in the city, police said, adding that a manhunt is on to nab the assailants who fled after committing the crime. Seeing the girl lying in an injured state, a passerby had informed the police about the incident.

Subsequently, the victim was rushed to a hospital in Balrampur, where doctors referred her to the trauma centre in King George's Medical University. Her condition is now said to be stable. Police have launched an investigation into the incident and the CCTV footage at the spot is being scoured to identify the miscreants.

According to police, the girl who is a resident of Madarpur Kursi, Barabanki, works in a private institution near Mahbullapur railway station, and as usual, was returning home from work when the miscreants stopped her at Sahara Estate. It was following an altercation between the girl and the miscreants that she was stabbed in the stomach, police added.

Meanwhile, the girl's father informed the police saying that she recently had got into a dispute with a relative.
