Haridwar: The festival of Ganesh Chaturthi is being celebrated across the country. While the coronavirus has affected every festival and religious program for the past two years, it has also affected the Ganpati festival celebration this year.
Ganesh Chaturthi is being celebrated in Haridwar by adhering to Covid protocols. Every year Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated in varied ways by Mahamaya Ganapati Sangathan of Haridwar. In view of the pandemic this year, the organization has decided to celebrate the Ganpati festival in a very subtle way by giving the theme of vaccination. They have shown Ganpati Maharaj is riding mouse getting the corona vaccine shots.

The Mahamaya organization said that the purpose of projecting the Ganpati idol in a child form is to make people aware of the third wave. Like it is being said that the third wave is very dangerous for children. In view of the same, the child form of Lord Ganesha has been depicted and tried to motivate people for vaccination.
The head of Mahamaya Ganapati Sangathan, Pandit Devendra Krishna Acharya said that Lord Ganapati spells out a message this time. "The idol is projected in a way that the common people realise the importance of taking the vaccine shots. This time instead of a thunderbolt, a bottle of the vaccine has been kept on one hand and a syringe on the other hand of Lord Ganesha,"

He said that Lord Ganesh himself injecting his mouse with jabs, is meant to inspire people to get the vaccine shots at the earliest.
