Bhatkal (Karnataka): To honour Neeraj Chopra on winning a gold medal in Tokyo Olympics, the Taamra restaurant in Bhatkal district in Karnataka has announced a free meal to all those named Neeraj. The restaurant took social media to announce the offer which will last till August 15.
Speaking to ETV Bharat, Ashish Nayak, owner of the 'Taamra' restaurant, said: "If a person visiting the restaurant is claiming to be Neeraj then he has to be present his id proof and once it is confirmed he will be offered the meal. So far, four have registered their names by calling a restaurant."
Launched seven months ago, the 'Taamra' restaurant is known for its traditional style of seafood.
A few days ago, a petrol pump owner in Gujarat's Bharuch had announced free fuel to all those named 'Neeraj' to celebrate the golden win of Athlete Neeraj Chopra. The offer was valid for a day on August 9 till 5 pm. According to the offer the people named Neeraj would receive petrol worth Rs 501.
Neeraj Chopra pierced the air with his javelin at Tokyo's Olympic Stadium on Saturday, he made sure that India's Olympics history also soared at an all-time high with it. Neeraj Chopra's 87.58-meter mark which propelled India to its first gold medal in Athletics is now forever etched in the nation's sporting history.
