New Delhi: Continuing its service to provide aid across the country amid the Covid-19 crisis, Oxygen Express is all set to deliver 118 metric tonnes of Liquid Medical Oxygen (LMO) to Kerala.
This will be the first Oxygen Express to the state which has loaded its tankers from Tata Steel and is moving towards its destination at Vallarpadam amid the Cyclone alert in the state.

In addition to this, Andhra Pradesh also received its first Oxygen Express, on Saturday. The train carried 40 MT of LMO from Durgapur in West Bengal and reached its destination Nellore in Andhra Pradesh on Saturday.
Railways has run two more Oxygen Expresses for Uttar Pradesh. While a train has reached Gorakhpur with 40 MT of oxygen, another train to Moradabad carrying 80 MT of LMO is at run currently.
Indian Railways has delivered more than 8,700 MT of LMO in more than 540 tankers to various states across the country. 139 Oxygen Express trains have completed their journey so far.
Till now, 521 MT of oxygen has been offloaded in Maharashtra, nearly 2,350 MT in Uttar Pradesh, 430 MT in Madhya Pradesh, 1228 MT in Haryana, 308 MT in Telangana, 40 MT in Rajasthan, 361 MT in Karnataka, 200 MT in Uttarakhand, 111 MT in Tamil Nadu, 40 MT in Andhra Pradesh and more than 3084 MT in Delhi.

Ministry of Railways said in a statement, "Railways has mapped different routes with oxygen supply locations and keeps itself ready with any emerging need of the states."
It also mentioned, "Running of new oxygen train is a very dynamic exercise and figures keep getting updated all the time. More loaded Oxygen Expresses are expected to start their journeys in the coming days."
