New Delhi: New Delhi: Notorious criminal gangster Jitender Mann 'Gogi' and two other criminals were killed in a shootout at Room number 207 of Rohini court in northwest Delhi on Friday.
Gogi, who was involved in several criminal cases and jailed in Tihar, was being produced in court, when his rival group entered the premises disguised as lawyers, and opened fire at him. As a retaliation, the counter intelligence team of Delhi police opened fire on the assailants, in which two of them were killed. Gogi received five to six bullet injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was declared brought dead by doctors.
Notably, Gogi along with three other accomplices was arrested in 2020 by the special cell of the Delhi police. At the time of his arrest, a reward of Rs 8 lakh was announced on him by the Delhi Police.
It is to be mentioned that there was a gang war going on for almost a decade between the slain Jitendra Gogi and Sunil alias Tillu, a resident of Alipura. So far almost 20 murders have been carried out in this dreaded gang war. Meanwhile, the police is suspecting Tillu's involvement in the matter.
The incident marks a huge security lapse in the court premises, said a lawyer, who witnessed the incident.
