Gwalior: A 40-year-old farmer tried to self-immolate during a rally of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Sunday.
According to the reports, the man has been identified as Dharmendra Sharma, a resident of Madhya Pradesh's Morena, poured kerosene oil and ignited the fire in the middle of the rally.
Chouhan, who came here to lay the foundation stone of various infrastructure projects, did not stop the speech as the policemen swiftly took the farmer out of the rally.
While the policemen were dragging him out of the rally said, "My name is Dharmendra Sharma. I have been visiting the offices of various police officials in the case related to land mafia but none of them responded over my concern."
Meanwhile, the police have registered a case against the land mafias and a probe is underway.
