EOW raids residences of suspended IPS officer

The Economic Offences Wing has raided four places associated with suspended IPS officer Rakesh Dubey, who was involved in illegal sand mining.

Patna: The Economic Offences Wing (EOW)Thursday raided four places, including two residences of Rakesh Dubey, a suspended IPS officer involved in illegal sand mining. Dubey's house at Jasidih in Deoghar, Jharkhand, was also raided.

Dubey, who was the SP of Bhojpur, was suspended for being associated with the illegal sand business. According to the information received from the EOW , a case has been registered under Section 13(2)RW13(1)(b) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.

Investigation is going on at Dubey's Gandhi Park residence under SK Puri police station area of ​​Patna, a flat located at Sudama Palace in Jalalpur, Engineer Nagar, his ancestral house in Simaria village at Jasidih, Jharkhand, and Sachin Residency Hotel. Rakesh Dubey was not present at any of these places.

It may be mentioned that 41 police and administrative officers were suspended in July in the illegal sand mining case. The then SP of Bhojpur Dubey and the then SP of Aurangabad Sudhir Kumar Porika were removed. The EOW is investigating against the officials who have amassed huge wealth from the illegal sand business. The EOW had earlier raided the premises of suspended SDPOs of Ara and Paliganj, SDOs of Rohtas and Dehri, and an MVI. Dubey is the first IPS officer in this case, whose house has been raided.
