Awantipora (J&K): Three unidentified militants affiliated with proscribed terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) have been killed, J&K Police said, adding that they were neutralised in the upper reaches of the forest area of Nagbaeran Tral in Awantipora district. Jammu and Kashmir Police said that an operation is on along with the Army in the area.
IGP of Kashmir Vijay Kumar speaking to media said, "JeM terrorist Wakeel Shah, involved in the killing of BJP leader Rakesh Pandita killed in today’s encounter at Tral."

"Two AK-47 rifles, one SLR and other warlike stores have been recovered from the three terrorists neutralised in Tral encounter. The identity of the terrorists is being ascertained," said the PRO (Defence) Srinagar.
Earlier, on Friday, two militants were neutralized in an encounter at Khrew Pampore area of Pulwama district. "One of the two terrorists killed in Khrew, Awantipora was involved in the killing of a peon at a govt school in Pastuna on July 23 this year. He has been identified as Musaib Mushtaq of Khrew. Second killed terrorist has been identified as Muzamil Ahmad Rather, a resident of Chakoora, Pulwama," Vijay Kumar, the IGP of Kashmir had said.
