Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal announces dates for JEE Main exams

Putting an end to all the apprehensions, Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal has announced the dates of JEE Main examinations today. JEE Main Phase three examinations will be conducted from July 20 to July 25. The fourth phase examinations will be conducted from July 27 to August 2.

New Delhi: Putting an end to all the apprehensions, Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal has announced the dates of JEE Main examinations today. JEE Main Phase III examinations will be conducted from July 20 to July 25. The fourth phase examinations will be conducted from July 27 to August 2. The Union Education Minister has also extended the application time for the examination. For the third round, students can apply from July 6 to July 8 till 11:50 pm. At the same time, applications for the fourth round can be made between July 9 and July 12.

Reopening the application will help those students who could not apply earlier for the JEE Main examinations due to some reason. The Education Minister has also said that this time the number of examination centres has been doubled as compared to last year. The number of examination centres has been increased, keeping in mind student's safety and Covid-19 protocols. The Education Minister has also urged the students and the officials of the states to conduct the examinations following all the rules related to the prevention of the covid-19 epidemic.

Earlier, several speculations were doing rounds related to the conduct of two rounds of JEE Main. The biggest challenge before the National Testing Agency was to conduct these examinations, keeping Covid-19 protocols. These exams of JEE Main were earlier to be held in April and May but had to be postponed due to the second phase of Covid-19 infection.

According to the information received from NTA, so far 6.80 lakh students have applied for the third round and 6.9 lakh students have applied for the fourth round. This number is expected to go up further after the re-registration opens.
