Hyderabad: A special Enforcement Court (ED) has summoned Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy in quid pro case as the prime accused and asked him to appear before the court on January 11. Summons were also issued to MP Vijaya Sai Reddy, Director of Hetero drugs Srinivas Reddy, Aurobindo Pharma MD Nithyananda Reddy, PV Ramprasad Reddy, Tydent Life Sciences Director Chandra Reddy and retired IAS officer BP Acharya.

The charge sheet in the asset disproportionate case was initially filed at Nampally Metropolitan Sessions Judge's (MSJ) court in connection with land allotments to Aurobindo and Hetero pharma companies.

Later on, the case was transferred from Nampally to ED court.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) investigations revealed that Quid Pro Quo was involved in land allotments to Aurobindo and Hetero companies in the Zedcherla Special Economic Zone (SEZ). According to the CBI and EDI charge sheets, the YS Rajasekhara Reddy government had allotted 75 acres to both Aurobindo and Hetero at a rate of Rs 7 lakh per acre, contrary to the decision of the pricing committee.

The appellate tribunal granted a stay on the seizure of assets worth about Rs 51 crore belonging to Hetero, Aurobindo, Janani Infra and Jagati Publications under investigation under the Anti-Money Laundering Act. All the petitions filed against the orders of the Appellate Tribunal are pending in the Telangana High Court. The Enforcement Directorate filed a charge sheet in the Nampally court in 2016 on the land allotments to Aurobindo and Hetero.
