New Delhi: The Delhi High Court on Friday will hear Google's plea against the leak of the confidential report of the investigation conducted by the Competition Commission of India (CCI). A bench of Justice Rekha Palli will hear the matter.
According to the petition, on September 18, a confidential interim report was submitted to the office of the Director-General of the Competition Commission regarding an agreement pertaining to Google's Android smartphone phone, however, the report was not received by Google, instead leaked to the media.
It has also been mentioned that an attempt has been made to harm Google and its partners by leaking confidential reports to the media. Google further said that it is the responsibility of investigative agencies to protect such reports.

"Google filed a writ petition in the Delhi HC seeking redress in this matter, specifically protesting against the breach of confidence which impairs Google's ability to defend itself and harms Google and its partners," it added.
Last week, reports had stated that CCI's investigation arm, the Director-General (DG), had found that Google indulged in unfair business practices in relation to Android. After prima-facie finding alleged violation of competition norms, CCI - in early 2019 - had ordered a detailed probe against Google in this regard.
