New Delhi: Fresh Covid-19 cases continued to fall in the country but with a lower rate of decline. For the last two weeks, the daily detection of new cases has remained firmly below 40,000.
The distribution of the first vaccines for the coronavirus has raised hopes that the end of the pandemic may be in sight, but it has also sparked some concern about side effects.
Meanwhile, experts have raised some questions and concerns regarding the vaccine Pfizer. Some of the medical experts said that it is not easy to be sure which person should be given a vaccine to protect against this virus and who does not.
Speaking to ETV Bharat, Secretary, Delhi Medical Association and Administrator of vaccineindia.org, Dr Ajay Gambhir said," Under the guise of Coronavirus, a great fear has been created all over the world and by spreading this fear, the companies making vaccine are looking for the opportunity to earn money."
"In such a situation, it is not difficult to guess that the way people are scared of coronavirus. They are also very excited about the vaccine. Everyone wants to protect themselves from this disease by taking the vaccine. There is no doubt that there is a competition among people about the vaccine," Dr Gambhir said.
"For the general population, this does not mean that they would need to be anxious about receiving the vaccination. One has to remember that even things like marmite can cause unexpected severe allergic reactions," he said.
"Vaccine is also a kind of medicine under the Drug Act, which is given to a healthy person instead of a sick person so that they are protected from any kind of infection. It is not a medicine that is given for cold fever or any kind of pain. It will be important to now understand the specific nature of the reactions and the background medical history of the individuals affected," he added.
"It usually takes 3 to 4 years to develop any vaccine, but the corona vaccine has been made within just 10 months. How much safety measures have been followed for this, it is not difficult to say now," he further added.
