Congress brainstorming over Prashant Kishor's plan for its revival

Congress is preparing itself for some organizational changes and has already begun brainstorming over the revival plan suggested by the political strategist Prashant Kishor, in lieu of the 2024 General Elections.

New Delhi: In view of the 2024 General Elections, Congress is preparing itself by firstly getting active to make the organizational changes and for that, party has begun brainstorming over the revival plan suggested by the political strategist Prashant Kishor. During a meeting with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, earlier this month, where party Chief Sonia Gandhi had also joined via video conferencing, Kishor had suggested a plan to make the party election battle- ready against BJP.

The sources informed that he also had meetings with other senior leaders of the party to deliberate over his plan for Congress' revival. After that a group of Congress Working Committee (CWC) members are meeting to discuss over the matter. It has also been reported that even Rahul Gandhi also had a discussion with some of the senior party members. There has also been a buzz of Prashant Kishor joining Congress party. However, the party members preferred not to speak much about the matter, accepting that the party high command is seriously taking up the issue of organizational changes.

"Meetings and discussions are going on for the changes in Congress party. But the matter of him (Prashant Kishor) joining the party, would completely depend upon his choice. And if he wants to join, then on what conditions and whether will Congress be able to fulfill them?" a Congress leader told ETV Bharat. Reportedly, Kishor has expressed his intention of joining active politics. Some of the Congress leaders even accept that his arrival would help strengthen the party. However, on the other side, some leaders opined that giving a key role to an "outsider" may also lead to an internal disturbance in the party, while stressing that every decision of Congress high command will be accepted.

It has been informed that the poll strategist has given suggestions over election strategy, coordination and alliance decisions, asserting that the party needs strengthen its district and state units. A source within the party also informed that Congress has started finding out alternative alliances at national level for the 2024 elections. Opposition has even started to make efforts to prepare a united front of Opposition to take on the ruling BJP. "Opposition parties have started coming together. Efforts are being made to unite opposition. It is the need of the hour," a Congress leader said.
