New Delhi: Amid the ongoing tussle between Government and Opposition, Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge accused the Center, on Thursday, of running a "false propaganda" by saying that Opposition is not cooperating with the Government to end this deadlock. While addressing the media outside the Parliament, Kharge said that an impression was being created that the Defence Minister Rajnath Singh reached to him in an attempt to end this logjam but the Opposition refused to agree.
"No leader has approached us. In fact, we had given a suggestion to the Defence Minister that being the Deputy leader, he should call a meeting of floor leaders of both the houses. He said that he'll consider it after coming back from Kazakhstan, but he didn't. So what can we do now?" Kharge alleged.
He also asserted that if Government will try to suppress the voice of Opposition by suspending MPs from the session, it will not scare them and they will continue their protests to demand a discussion over Pegasus and Farm laws. "The Government is trying to muzzle Opposition's voice, but it will not be cowed down and will keep fighting to raise people's issues including farmers protest and Pegasus matter," he added.

Kharge has also called an important meeting of Opposition MPs of both Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha, on Friday, at his office in Parliament at 10 am. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will also be present in this meeting. Another Congress MP in Rajya Sabha, Pratap Singh Bajwa said, "Farmers are sitting at Delhi borders for almost past 8 months. More than 500 farmers have laid down their lives. But Prime Minister hasn't said even a single word for them. They are also Indian citizens."
Claiming the three farm laws as the "death warrant" of farmers, Bajwa alleged that the Government want to take away the lands of small farmers to give it to the corporates. "Congress would not let that happen. We want a proper discussion over this matter. Till then we will continue our protests," he said. Since the beginning of Monsoon Session of Parliament, Opposition parties have been continuously demanding a discussion over Pegasus and farm laws. However, BJP is alleging that the Opposition is not letting Parliament to function and accusing it of not following the Parliamentary procedures.
