CISF nabs passenger with six gold coins in airport

Security forces have seized six gold coins from a passenger travelling from Paris to Chennai. The seized coins are worth approximate Rs 2 lakh.

New Delhi: A CISF jawan seized six gold coins wrapped with cello tape from a passenger at IGI Airport on Monday. The weight of the recovered coins was about 40 gms, worth approximate Rs 2 lakh.

The passenger was identified as Mr Jahabar Sadik Arif Maraikar, arrived from Paris by an Air India flight and further bound for Chennai by another Air India flight.

The passenger and the recovered coins have been handed over to senior officers of CISF & Custom Officials for further investigation.

In another incident, CISF recovered a bag filled with cash worth Rs 90,000 from the Delhi metro station. Later the bag was handed over to its owner after all verification.
