BJP MLA Nimaben Acharya becomes Gujarat Assembly’s first woman Speaker

The BJP MLA from Kutch, Nimaben Acharya has been appointed as the Speaker following the resignation of Rajendra Trivedi, who was the Speaker before becoming a cabinet minister of Revenue and Law in the new cabinet of CM Bhupendra Patel's government.

Gandhinagar (Gujarat): Nimaben Acharya has become the first woman Speaker of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly. The BJP MLA from Kutch, has been appointed as the Speaker following the resignation of Rajendra Trivedi, who was the Speaker before becoming a cabinet minister of Revenue and Law in the new cabinet of CM Bhupendra Patel's government.

Nimaben Acharya in a conversation with ETV Bharat said that when she was the first woman doctor in Kutch, she treated women of Kutch and had done a lot of good work. She has been in politics for the last three years and faced all kinds of challenges. She further said that all women should love their work and carry a positive attitude to succeed in their chosen fields of work.
