Ahmedabad (Gujarat): Delhi’s deputy chief minister and education minister Manish Sisodia was on a day’s visit to Gujarat on Sunday. He flagged off Aam Aadmi Party’s roadshow from Hatkeshwar that culminated at Bapunagar. Later, another roadshow was organized from Surdhara circle to Chandlodia.
In an interaction with ETV Bharat correspondent Parth Gandhi, Sisodia said "So far Gujarat has seen only two parties – BJP and Congress. But now Gujarat has got a third alternative and hence it will witness a wind of change."
- What do you have to say about the roadshow you are holding in Gujarat?
A: People of Gujarat are waiting. They had reposed trust in the BJP government during the last 25 years. But, the BJP government has done nothing in Gujarat. Government has not build proper government schools and mohalla clinics. People are pushed here and there when they visit government offices for their work.
What has the BJP done in the last 25 years? There is 25 years of BJP government in Gujarat and five years of Kejriwal government in Delhi for all to see the difference.
In just five years, the Kejriwal government has transformed the government schools completely and built modern hospitals in which the world is talking about.
Citizens need not go to government offices for work, the government comes at their doorstep. People have seen this model. This is the difference between the 25 years of BJP rule and the 5 years of AAP rule. People of Gujarat will therefore prefer the politics of five years.
- What do you have to say about Gujarat chief minister Vijay Rupani’s claim that the Gujarat development model is the best?
A: Let people decide. So far, people did not have an alternative but now they will decide. Till now BJP and Congress were like sisters. Both are sister parties. Now people have realized that there is a party which can defeat BJP.
- You are saying that Congress has no strength but Rupani said BJP will win as no party can defeat BJP.
A: The battle is between 25 years of BJP rule versus 5 years of AAP rule. It is for everyone to see what we have done in five years. People will decide and vote for AAP.
- How will AAP win? How will AAP work if voted to power?
A: We will work. They tried hard to stop us in Delhi. We will also work in Gujarat. People will like us because we will work for the people, no one can stop us.
- Will you follow the Delhi formula if voted to power?
Answer: Do not call it a formula. Just see if we have not worked for the people. In Gujarat, parents are compelled to send their children to private schools and the ill to private hospitals. What kind of government is this which has led the state to such a sorry pass in 25 years.
