New Delhi: Indian Youth Congress members held a protest against the BJP, on Wednesday, alleging that the party is trying to do horse-trading of Congress MLAs in Madhya Pradesh to "destabilise" the elected government in the state.
In a symbolic protest, Youth Congress accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah for toppling the 15-months old Kamal Nath Government.
The protest has erupted after Jyotiraditya Scindia joined BJP, on Wednesday, amid a rebellion in Madhya Pradesh by his supporters, pushing the state government to the brink of collapse. The protest was held at Raisina Road, in front of IYC head office.
Members of the youth wing of Congress party were seen wearing masks of Union Ministers from BJP including PM and HM, while a protestor, wearing a mask of Scindia, was trapped inside a cage with a bag full of money. Speaking to the media, a member of Youth Congress, wearing the mask of PM Modi, said, "Today we have got the strength of Congress party, Jyotiraditya Scindia and also destabilized the elected government of Madhya Pradesh.
We have full faith on our Home Minister Amit Shah. By the time we have him on our side, we can attain the government in each and every state. The protestors alleged, "BJP is spending crores of black money to destabilize the duly elected Congress governments and destroying the social fabric of India which is utterly shameful. BJP doesn't want any party in its opposition to rule anywhere and they are habitual offenders of engineering defection."
