New Delhi: On the first anniversary of the Pulwama terror attack, the Indian Youth Congress on Friday led a peaceful candlelight vigil at India Gate in memory of 40 CRPF jawans who were martyred.

The youth Congress questioned the government over the investigation

Speaking to ETV Bharat, IYC President Srinivas BV said, "We are here to pay tribute to the martyred soldiers who laid down their lives for the nation during the Pulwama Terror attack. We salute the courage of those soldiers."

However, Srinivas also raised questions on the 'intelligence failure'.

"There are still many questions which remain unanswered till date. BJP has come to power using this matter. We urge the government to give justice to these martyrs by completing the investigation of the attack," he said.

"We want to know how did 300 kg IED reached there? How can there be such a huge intelligence failure? Why there is no report of the investigation? Why were these soldiers not airlifted that day?" he questioned.

Earlier today, attacking the Narendra Modi-led government over the probe, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi tweeted, "Who benefited the most from the attack?" following which BJP leaders called him a "known sympathiser" of LeT and Jaish-e-Mohammad.

Replying to the BJP's accusations, Srinivas said, "BJP is actually politicising the issue from the past one year. They came to power using the Pulwama attack. They put posters of the attack everywhere during elections, and now even after one year they are not able to give justice to the martyrs," he said.
