Maharashtra: Sangli in Maharashtra is one of the worst affected areas by the devastating floods in the state. As many as 2.85 lakh people were rescued from the ongoing floods. According to officials, the death toll due to floods in the Kolhapur, Sangli, Satara, Pune and Solapur districts is increasing.

In a recent video going viral on the internet, a woman is seen expressing gratitude towards the soldiers' by touching their feet. The woman is shown sitting in a relief boat that was taking people to a safer spot, dressed in a saree and a purple sweater.

As a thanksgiving, she touched the feet of an army man who was standing right next to her. She then touched the feet of another army officer standing on another corner of the boat. At the end of the video, she can be seen getting up with joined hands thanking everyone.

The Chief Minister has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh for those killed due to rain-related incidents. Fadnavis said that as flood water recedes, the government will focus on providing drinking water and restoring power supply.
